Buffed is an appointment booking platform for nail studios, operated by Making Power Moves LLC. This page reproduces the text-message consent shown to a client when they book an appointment, so it can be read in full without booking anything.

Where the opt-in appears

On a studio's public booking page at buffed.studio/book/{studio}, no account and no login required. After choosing a service and a time, the client reaches the details step, where they enter their name, email, and phone number. The consent checkbox sits directly beneath the phone field, above the "Confirm booking" button.

What the checkbox says

The checkbox below is a disabled replica shown for reference. It is not interactive and does nothing. On the real booking form it is a normal checkbox, and it is unchecked until the client checks it themselves.

By checking this box you agree to receive appointment text messages from this studio via Buffed at the mobile number you entered - an appointment confirmation and reminders as your appointment approaches. Message frequency varies, up to about 5 messages per appointment. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required to book.

The four required disclosures

Type of messages: appointment notifications only, a booking confirmation and up to four reminders as the appointment approaches (two weeks, one week, 24 hours, and one hour before), plus a notice if the appointment is rescheduled, cancelled, or if your nail tech is running late. Not every booking gets all four reminders -- a booking made closer to the appointment only gets the reminders that still fit before it. Buffed does not send marketing messages, promotional offers, or third-party content over SMS.

Message frequency: message frequency varies, up to about 5 messages per appointment booked.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Buffed does not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier may.

How to opt out: Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT are also accepted. You receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and then no further messages. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your appointment.

Consent is optional

The consent checkbox is a separate checkbox, unchecked by default, and it is never a condition of using the service. Consent is not required to book: the booking form submits normally with the box left unchecked, the appointment is created exactly the same way, and the client simply receives no text messages. Nothing on Buffed requires agreeing to SMS in order to sign up or complete a booking.

Consent is recorded only when the box is actually checked, together with the exact wording shown above and the time it was given. Text messages are sent only to a client who has a recorded consent, a phone number on its own is never treated as permission to text.

Who sends the messages
